Land Acknowledgment:

Janette Cordero (with ALMA Therapy PLLC) wishes to acknowledge the land where our work and healing occur. We strive to be in better connection with the Earth. This includes recognizing and honoring the ancestors who have been in a relationship with the land long before European settlement and colonization. We name the land of the Sana, Jumanos, Coahuiltecan, Nʉmʉnʉʉ Sookobitʉ (Comanche), Ndé KónitsÄ…Ä…íí Gokíyaa (Lipan Apache), and Tonkawa nations, which was stolen and remains unceded. We acknowledge the historical and ongoing effects of colonization, including violence, genocidal intent, and the forced displacement of Indigenous peoples from this land. As settlers, we understand that we and our future generations have benefited from this legacy of oppression and erasure.
